After striking gold, Jonathan returns to find his partner dead and Tommy fatherless. He leaves Lassie with Tommy for comfort. Jonathan's new partner, Lin, tries to kill him for the gold. Lassie survives poisoning, tracks Lin, and defeats him when Lin's gun jams.
