A band of Indians led by The Hawk terrorizes prospectors in a valley. HAWK of THE HILLS was originally a ten episode serial in 1927, but was re-edited into a five-reel feature in 1929. It is this feature version which we are proud to present to you for the very first time on DVD.

The story takes place in the 1860s or 1870s near Spirit Lake, Iowa. Settlements of whites are growing in that region but the Sioux Indians also have professed their interest in one such settlement. Chief Sitting Bull (Chief Yowlachie), surveys the settlement at Spirit Lake from afar and with the advice of the Great Spirit vows to retake the land that belonged to his fathers.

Three Shorts, Go West, follows a New Yorker seeking work in the country who leads a cattle herd to the West Coast. The Scarecrow features two farmhands competing for a girl. The Paleface depicts Buster helping a Native American tribe save their land from greedy oil barons.

A railroad-station agent fired from his job because of a villain's crafty scheme. The villain is a major stockholder in the railroad company and covets Hart's girl. While working as a ranch hand, Hart discovers that his enemy is actually the leader of a gang of train robbers and he sets out to expose the truth. This exciting movie was President Woodrow Wilson's favorite William S. Hart western.
