In answer to a desperate request from its newspaper editor, Captain Rynning heads to Wilcox with a new recruit and finds the man dangling from a noose outside of town. Rynning finds the townspeople cowering in fear of the town boss, Big Red Monahan, and must find a way to find the murderers and put Monahan out of business.
